Lean Beef for the New Year

Our New Year has started with some much needed rain. It is good to see the tanks with water in them, and the green beginning to brighten the landscape!

As you may already know, we have downsized the herd due to the drought.  We will be selling approximately half the amount of beef in 2012 as we did in 2011.  Our CSA customers are first in line for each month's harvest.  After we pack the CSAs for the month, we fill orders in the order in which they are received.  The remaining beef will be available for sale at the farmer's markets.  We are also scheduling requests half and quarter beef.  

We're just starting our January delivery schedule, which is below.  If you miss our delivery dates, you can get our beef, along with plenty of other local products and the best raw milk in Texas at Dyer Mercantile (7801 E. Hwy. 29, Georgetown) or at  Village Foods in Bryan.
 
LEAN BEEF SPECIAL:  Did you make a resolution to eat better in 2012?  We can help.  Two of our most versatile, easy-to-prepare and leanest cuts are 25% off all month.  Some of my favorite recipes for these cuts include Yogurt Marinated Steaks and Beef and Spinach Lo Mein.  

WINTER DELIVERIES:  The Georgetown/Round Rock markets have closed for the season, but we will continue to make monthly deliveries to our market spots.  We will be at each spot for a short time once per month to allow our CSA customers and anyone who places an order to pickup beef.  Can't have y'all going to the supermarket for beef!  The schedule for January and February is below.

OUR BEEF AT RETAIL:  Check out  the retail outlets that carry a selection of our beef.  If they don’t have what you want, just ask, and we’ll do our best to start stocking it.
  • Village Foods 1760 Briarcrest Drive, Bryan, carries our beef in a special freezer for “Natural Beef”, across from the fresh meat case.  Village Foods has been great about working with us and other local suppliers.
  • Dyer Mercantile (7801 E. Hwy. 29, Georgetown) carries our beef in the “Wild Type Ranch” freezer.  Regular hours are weekdays (except Wednesday) 10-7 pm , Saturdays 9 am-7 pm and Sundays 1 pm -6 pm.
